Hawkinge is a rapidly expanding village inside sou'-east Kent. In the period of World War II it was the nighest operational field to France and was used in a period of the Battle of Britain. a flying field is today a places of a housing estate the building of which was hampered per discovery of many pipe bombs which experienced been put there in the event of a German invasion to render the flying field useless to enemy plane. A local M.P. is the Rt. Hon. Michael Howard Q.C. (Conservative) who has "a little of the night about him". There are trey Shepway District Councillors for the Hawkinge area: David Callahan, Peter Smith, and Christina Smith.
